The grace period to obtain licences ran from April 2025 to June 28, 2026 \u2014 14 months. During that window, some platforms pursued Thai SEC licences; others did not. Bybit, OKX, and CoinEx fell into the latter category and faced blocking orders before the deadline, with enforcement now in full effect.<\/p>\n<p>This does not mean using these platforms became a criminal act for Thai users overnight \u2014 the enforcement is directed at the platforms, not at individuals. But it does mean Thai users can no longer access these platforms from Thailand via normal internet connections without using a VPN, and using a VPN to access a blocked financial service creates its own legal and practical risks, particularly around fund recovery if something goes wrong.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Thai_Users_Should_Do_If_They_Have_Funds_on_Blocked_Platforms\"><\/span>What Thai Users Should Do If They Have Funds on Blocked Platforms<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The most important step is to withdraw your funds to a personal wallet or to a licensed Thai exchange before the platforms potentially restrict Thai IP access further or before any additional enforcement affects withdrawal functionality. Most platforms continue to process withdrawals even after access blocking \u2014 the restriction is on new Thai users depositing and trading, not necessarily on existing users getting their money out. But do not wait.<\/p>\n<p>Step 1: Use a withdrawal method you have previously verified (bank account, same wallet address as previous withdrawals) to avoid triggering manual review delays.<br \/>\nStep 2: If you hold Thai baht on the platform, convert to a stable crypto (USDT or USDC) first, withdraw to your personal wallet, then convert at a licensed Thai exchange or P2P platform.<br \/>\nStep 3: If you want to continue trading, open an account at one of Thailand&#8217;s licensed exchanges.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Thailands_Licensed_Crypto_Exchanges_in_2026\"><\/span>Thailand&#8217;s Licensed Crypto Exchanges in 2026<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As of August 2026, the following exchanges hold valid Thai SEC digital asset business licences:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Bitkub<\/strong> \u2014 Thailand&#8217;s largest by volume, THB trading pairs, mobile app widely used<\/li>\n<li><strong>Satang<\/strong> \u2014 licensed operator, competitive fees, good for altcoin trading<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gulf Binance<\/strong> \u2014 joint venture between Gulf Energy and Binance, launched in 2023, growing rapidly in institutional segment<\/li>\n<li><strong>Zipmex<\/strong> \u2014 licensed but had liquidity issues in 2022; verify current operational status before depositing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For traders who need access to token pairs or derivatives that licensed Thai platforms do not offer, the regulatory gap is genuine. Thailand has no domestic crypto derivatives market yet, though TFEX Bitcoin futures are in the pipeline.
