Binance Thailand Review 2025 — Is It Available in Thailand?

Binance’s situation in Thailand is complicated — but not as simple as ‘blocked’ or ‘available’. There are now two distinct Binance products available to Thai traders: Binance.com (global, not SEC licensed) and Gulf Binance (SEC licensed Thai joint venture). Here’s everything you need to know.

Binance in Thailand — Two Products

ProductSEC Thailand LicenseTHB DepositsWho Should Use It
Gulf Binance✅ Fully licensed✅ PromptPay, bank transferThai traders wanting full compliance
Binance.com❌ Not licensedLimited (P2P only)Advanced traders needing all altcoins

Gulf Binance — The Recommended Option

Gulf Binance launched in 2023 as a joint venture between Binance and Gulf Energy Development, one of Thailand’s largest listed companies. It holds a full Digital Asset Exchange license from the SEC Thailand.

  • SEC Thailand licensed — full Thai regulatory protection
  • PromptPay and bank transfer deposits supported
  • Binance technology and interface — familiar if you have used Binance.com
  • Broader coin selection than Bitkub
  • Lower fees than Bitkub (0.1% vs 0.25%)

Binance.com in Thailand — The Grey Area

The SEC Thailand has issued warnings about Binance.com as an unlicensed operator and has attempted ISP-level blocks at various points. However, Binance.com remains accessible in Thailand via direct connection or VPN. Many Thai traders continue to use it for altcoins and derivatives not available on local exchanges.

Legal position: Using Binance.com as a Thai resident is in a regulatory grey area. The SEC warnings are directed at the operator, not individual users — no Thai retail trader has been prosecuted for personal use. That said, using an SEC-licensed exchange (Gulf Binance, Bitkub) is the legally compliant approach.

Depositing THB on Binance.com

Binance.com does not support direct THB deposits from Thai banks. The standard method for Thai traders is P2P trading: buy USDT from other Thai users using PromptPay within the Binance P2P marketplace. This typically takes 5–15 minutes and adds a small premium above the market USDT price.

Verdict

For most Thai traders, Gulf Binance is the better choice — it combines Binance technology with SEC Thailand protection and direct THB deposits. Use Binance.com only if you specifically need coins or products not available on Gulf Binance, with the understanding that it operates outside the Thai regulatory framework.
